Pretty Powerful Contest

Hoping that I'm not being too annoying on Twitter, I wanted to let everyone know if the Bobbi Brown Cosmetics Pretty Powerful contest I have joined. Round One consisted of me taking one minute of my time and explaining what I like about Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. Not owning many of them at the time, I picked what I loved (from what I owned) that would make me move from Pretty to Pretty Powerful (that's the mantra of the contest). I said I needed to have a full face - consisting of Foundation, blush, and my eyebrows. When my face is like that, I can easily go to work and not feel disgusting. Of course, I filmed that video at close to 5:30 am and I definitely looked tired. I submitted it and went about my life.

Then I got an email...

I was a semi-finalist.

Holy Crap!

Never making it very far in any contest I submit (beyond the few YouTube contests I've placed in), I thought for sure I would never hear anything else. We were sent an amazing prize pack and a letter from Bobbi Brown, explaining the next steps. I made my video - again only 1 minute long - THAT was hard enough! If you watch my videos you know I like to take the time to explain what I do. Opting for voice overs and speeding through the important steps, I showed my completed look.

So now is where you come in. From what I understand, Bobbi Brown is looking for people to VOTE on their favorite videos. She is going to take that into consideration and invite 3 people to come to NYC and have a Master Class with her.

HOW AMAZING IS THAT?

So I am asking you to vote.
Not once...
Multiple times...
Here is my entry...

But please, don't vote for me if you see another video you like more than mine. I watched all of them and I have to say I have a small chance of being chosen. Some of them are so much better. Either way this was a really fun contest and I enjoyed entering.

Thank you so much for all that you do to support me!

So THIS is What Heaven Feels Like?!

A little over a month ago I went to NOVA to pick up a new Wii Console so I could do the Wii Active in my living room in the mornings before work. I parked by Nordstrom at Tyson's Corner because a spot miraculously opened.

Forced against my will to walk through the beauty department to get to the mall, I stopped by the Philosophy counter. Determined I was going to buy something to help my wind-chapped and winter bitten dry skin I allowed the counter manager to convince me all my worries would disappear with her counter.

 What's messed up is that

SHE WAS RIGHT!

I asked her for a night time moisturizer that I could apply at bedtime after I went through my night routine. She recommended I try the WHEN HOPE IS NOT ENOUGH. To me it doesn't feel too oily and leaves my skin feeling refreshed.

Of course she asked if I exfoliate. I had been, but ran out of product. So she convinced me (twisting my arm the whole way let me tell you - hahaha, yea right!) to try the microdelivery peel. It is a bit pricey, but so much cheaper than a dermatologist visit - who's against doing something like this in their pj's versus the doctor's office - not me!

Since I was so responsive to her, and she sold me on the company (I'd never tried philosophy before this - I had received some samples but hadn't used them yet) she gave me a crap ton of samples of Hope in a Jar and a few other things. I was ecstatic and vowed to come back again.

When I got home I immediately gave myself a peel after washing my face and such. I don't have many issues with black heads, but the ones I did have were GONE. My face felt soft and smooth. The smell was not overwhelming, but a mild citrus, orange juicy scent. The two step process is super simple and leaves your face feeling AMAZING.

The first time I tried the Hope in a Jar sample, I was shocked. This white creamy substance felt like a cream on my fingers but once applied to my face, had a "wet" and "watery" consistency. My face was left feeling like I had just doused it in water. Learning quickly that a little goes a very long way, I now use the Hope in a Jar every morning after washing my face. It acts as an amazing moisturizer.

I use the When Hope is Not Enough at night time and wake up with my face feeling refreshed. It's not greasy and there have been no breakouts since using. This line is amazing and I'm sold. I think I'm going to branch out and try the shower gel or bubble bath's next.

These three products have now become Holy Grail items I will be replacing when they run out. As soon as my samples run out I am going to buy a large bottle of the Hope in a Jar.

What is your daily face moisturizer routine (if you have one)?
